Till now Odisha faced 4 to 5 rimes Western disturbances because of that so many districts of Odisha like South, east, north side district faced so much rains with dangerous thunderstorm and ice rains.

1. About Western disturbances.
– Here is 2 words arising Western and Disturbances.
– Western means the wind create in west and it flows to east.
– Disturbance means non-seasonal monsoon like rain will happen in winter season.
– Western disturbances creates in western region of our earth means in Mediterranean region.
– After it created it start to flows towards east direction, that’s why because of this Pakistan, India, Afghanistan like countries faced rain falls in winter season (in between January-march month) also.
2. Reason of western disturbance.
– Western disturbances creates in Mediterranean region.
– This Mediterranean region falls on Sub- tropical region of earth.
– Because of this sub-tropical region, here always high pressure was created.
– In this region, Mediterranean sea is there where the western wind can form and it flows towards east through upper jet stream.
– Because in east side that time temperature started to increase that’s why low pressure are formed, and wind flows always high pressure region to low pressure region.
– when western wind flows it can take too much moisture from black sea and Caspian sea also.
– Western wind flows the north region of the India and bombarded with the Himalaya mountain.
– That’s why we shows raining in north side on winter season.

– We all know western wind is form because of high pressure & high-pressure wind always flows low pressure region.
– but when it enters in India environment, Himalaya Mountain stand like a barrier in front of this high-pressure western wind and after bombarding it create disturbances like rains, thunderstorms and many natural disturbances like flood.
4. Why Odisha faced back-to-back western disturbances?
– In this year 2023, Odisha faced 4 to 5 times western disturbances.
But why, what is the scientific reason?
– western disturbance start in Odisha on February end and march month and in this month, temperature starts to increase that’s why in Odisha low pressure are created and for global warming effect temperature in March month goes up to 30°C to 35°C in Odisha.
– Western wind is a high-pressure wind and wind always flows high pressure to low pressure for full the empty space.
That’s why Odisha always faces back-to-back western disturbances.
5. Advantages and Disadvantage
Advantages -:
– Peoples are feeling better in summer season because of rain.
– Rabi crops are grown up.
Disadvantage -:
– If excessive rain will happen, then flood, thunderstorm will happen
– Many crops washed away because of heavy rain.

6. My opinion on this.
Because of global warming, winter season can’t survive 4 months also And in February middle temperature starts to increase. That’s why back-to-back western disturbances attack to Odisha.
If we can control global warming then we can control these types of natural disturbances. Our farmers face huge loss because of this type of natural disturbances and for that we, humans are the main culprit.
So, by controlling the global warming, we can do help our farmers also.
