2004 के ओडिशा विधान सभा चुनाव में, मोहन ने भारतीय जनता पार्टी के उम्मीदवार के रूप में keonjhar विधान सभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से चुनाव लड़ा। इस चुनाव में उन्हें कुल 46,146 वोट मिले और वे 13वीं ओडिशा विधानसभा के लिए निर्वाचित हुए। उन्होंने अपने निकटतम प्रतिद्वंद्वी भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के माधव सरदार को 11,002 मतों से हराया।
2014 के ओडिशा विधान सभा चुनाव में, मोहन ने भारतीय जनता पार्टी के उम्मीदवार के रूप में keonjhar विधान सभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से चुनाव लड़ा। इस चुनाव में उन्हें कुल 47,283 वोट मिले और हार गये. बीजू जनता पार्टी के उम्मीदवार अभिराम नाइक को 8,676 वोटों से हराकर ओडिशा विधानसभा के लिए चुने गए।
2019 के ओडिशा विधान सभा चुनाव में, मोहन ने भारतीय जनता पार्टी के उम्मीदवार के रूप में keonjhar विधान सभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से चुनाव लड़ा। उन्होंने यह चुनाव जीता और 16वीं ओडिशा विधानसभा के लिए चुने गए।
